David & Nicky Vaughn
Bouc Bel Air
FRANCE
David and Nicky Vaughn currently serve the Lord in Bouc Bel Air, a suburb town to Aix-en-Provence, a city of 140,000 people + 60,000 university students. In 2012, along with a French couple, they began a church plant in Bouc Bel Air and now have a small group of people attending weekly Sunday services.
David also travels to the Belgian Bible Institute in Brussels where he teaches courses on Romans, Preaching, and Biblical Piety. Additionally, he has made annual trips to West Africa to train pastors in Burkina Faso and Ivory Coast. The Vaughns have three adult children—Caroline, Jonathan, and Michelle.
David Vaughn came to faith in Christ in 1978 at the University of Georgia through the witness of Campus Crusade for Christ. He soon became convinced that he should devote his life to the work of spreading the Gospel. After graduating he served for six years with Campus Crusade in Ivory Coast, West Africa, where he became fluent in the French language and gained experience in cross-cultural ministry.
In 1987, while attending a CC leader’s conference, David met Nicola Fuller, a South African woman, who, like himself, had a burden for the French-speaking world. They were married in June 1989 in Fayettville, GA where David began serving a three-year term as Associate Pastor at Heritage Church in that same city. His aim was to receive additional theological training and experience before going back overseas as a church planter.
In October 1991, the Vaughns were set apart as missionaries and sent by Heritage Church to France. With the Lord’s help they planted churches in Chalon-sur-Saône in the Burgundy region of France , and in Grenoble, France where they ministered for seven and l3 years respectively before moving on to Bouc Bel Air.
