Christian Compassion Ministries
Christian Compassion Ministries Foundation is a ministry of Cubao Reformed Baptist Church that demonstrates the love of God to the poor and neglected, all being done in the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ to the end that God may be glorified.
Christian Compassion Ministries was started in 1995 as a ministry of Cubao Reformed Baptist Church (CRBC) in Cubao, Manila, Philippines. CRBC had received a financial gift from Grace Fellowship Church in Bremen, Indiana which was originally intended to help the victims of the Mount Pinatubo volcanic eruption in western Luzon, Philippines (about 55 miles NW of Manila). As this opportunity came to a close, CRBC was able to use the gifted money to begin a new ministry to help the street children and the poor living in the slums and squatter areas of Manila. This began with church members teaching Bible stories to children on the street corners and has grown into two main outreaches--
EDUCATIONAL ASSISTANCE PROGRAM (EAP)
Schooling in the Philippines is officially free; however there are many extra charges and costs making it very expensive, if not unaffordable, for many. This is especially the case once a child reaches college/university age as the price of such education increases dramatically. Through donor sponsorship, needy children in the community are assisted with these costs as well as necessary school supplies and access to tutorials. God has blessed the work and there are now nearly 300 children from the local slum areas being supported in their education.
BOYS AND GIRLS HOMES
Through the generosity of sponsors, CCM is able to provide abused, neglected, and orphaned young people a safe environment in which to thrive. Christian house parents give day to day care to 10-15 children per home in a family-like, God-centered atmosphere. There are currently four homes for girls and one home for boys accommodating up to about 60 children in total. The children are supplied with basic needs such as clean water, a balanced diet, and appropriate clothing. Each home holds nightly devotions and the children attend CRBC on Sundays as well as Holiday Bible Camp. The boys and girls go to school and are given extra help as needed with tutorials. They also enjoy educational field trips, camps, and family trips to the beach or pool. Health care is provided for each child as well as access to a Christian social worker.
